Discover your style of entertaining with inspiring and versatile dining room ideas from Cantoni!
Pumpkin pie, stuffed turkey, and sweet cranberry sauce are just a few things that come to mind when we think about Thanksgiving. As we start welcoming our friends and family into our homes, we are reminded that home truly is where the heart is. Our dining tables will be brimming with all the traditions and classic holiday dishes we so relish, and what better way to showcase our labors of love than with the perfect dining table? We know how much time and effort you put into preparing such a magnificent feast for this time honored day and believe your dining room should showcase that! Whether you wish to create a sultry setting or a striking scene, we’ve got 7 inspiring and versatile dining room options that Cantoni Irvine design consultants, Richard Bustos and Sarah Monaghan have shared with us to help guide you to your perfect setting.
For The Colorful
This dining room option is not for the color fearful! But for the entertainers looking for a setting that is as vibrant as their personality, this combination of red, blue, and yellow side chairs and dining accessories is “color-tastic!” Decorative accessories are always a fun and easy way to add either a pop or a lot of color, but to kick it up a notch, Richard and Sarah selected the Amelie Side Chairs in a variety of bold colors. Such a seating arrangement is so unexpected, yet exciting that you may find your guests playing musical chairs in addition to feasting!
For The Minimalist
So, perhaps color in the dining room isn’t really your thing and you prefer clean lines and a fresh look. The all-white dining room does just that. The eye-catching angles of the Big Table‘s base combined with our cantilevered side chairs and geometric sideboard give this dining room the perfect amount of visual interest and dimension while making what’s on the table the main topic of conversation.
Au’ Natural
For the entertainer who fears modern equates to cold and stark, there is the “Au’ Natural” dining room, a setting that is both cozy and chic. Here, Sarah and Richard selected striking pieces from our latest collection by Cattelan, which boasts warm wood tones to capture a mid-century modern look that is warm and inviting.
For the Space-Challenged
For those who don’t have the luxury of space, finding the right dining table that will comfortably seat your holiday crowd can seem like a bit of a challenge. Have no fear though, extendible tables are here! Like many of our extendible dining tables, the Giro Table, featured above, easily expands to reveal two leaves for a larger dining surface. The best part? You won’t have to worry about finding a place to store the leaves once the rush of holiday entertaining is over since the leaves are hidden beneath the sleek glass top! Richard and Sarah also suggest maximizing a small space by dressing your walls with shelving, artwork or a tall floor mirror as seen above–this will conserve floor space and naturally make the room look larger.
The Ultra-Modern Entertainer
Clean lines, bold artwork, sharp angles, and steel are just a few things Sarah and Richard kept in mind when designing a dining room for the ultra-modern entertainer. The Prora Dining Table is like a work of art in itself due to its sculptural, laser cut steel base. But the Prora is coveted for more than its aesthetics, it’s highly functional too, especially for the entertainer looking to seat a crowd up to 12-14 guests. With such a large crowd, you’ll need a large sideboard to store your dining essentials. The Kayak Sideboard does just that and in true ultra-modern fashion in an attention-getting red punch of color!
For The Transitional Type
For the entertainer whose style is somewhere in between contemporary and traditional, the transitional dining room may be your perfect match. Keeping in mind that the transitional palette often relies on a lack of color to create a serene and sophisticated atmosphere, Richard and Sarah selected luxurious and timeless dining pieces from our Red Carpet Collection by Malerba and added minimal, yet glamorous accent pieces to provide contrast to the furniture.
For the Playful
We saved the best for last with a versatile and dynamic dining room for those who will be feasting and then some…not your typical dining room, here, Richard and Sarah created a setting that would be both casual and fun, yet still modern and sophisticated. With a dining table that seamlessly transitions into a fully-stocked billiards table, and a freestanding bar waiting to be filled with holiday-inspired beverages, the dining room for the playful is the perfect setting to host the ultimate dinner party or holiday soiree!
We hope that Sarah and Richard’s dining room ideas have inspired you as well as helped you discover what your entertaining style is!
