United Texas Bank’s Sleek And Sophisticated Headquarters

A prominent entrepreneur and developer looks to Cantoni design consultant Nicole George for a workspace as inventive and statement-making as his projects

Dallas entrepreneur and developer Jeffrey Beck is known for innovative ideas and cutting-edge projects through his businesses — Beck Ventures, United Texas Bank and Quantum Holdings — which he oversees alongside his sons, Scott and Jarrod. So when it came time to design interiors for the polished company headquarters for United Texas Bank, which he founded in 1985, he wanted a space that was everything but basic.

It was a tall order to fill: Beck Ventures is the investment firm behind an upcoming $4 billion urban development named Dallas Midtown, which will boast boutiques, restaurants, a five-star hotel with condos, park space, bike lanes, and more. The bank’s headquarters are the beginning of the veritable city within a city set to redefine Dallas’ landscape.

As a Dallas resident since 1974, he had worked with Cantoni for several personal residential projects, and knew the company’s design aesthetic was an ideal fit. “Cantoni has a reputation in the community as the most professional, high-quality contemporary furniture company in Texas,” he says. “They have always exceeded my expectations in both quality and service.”

As a visionary behind such high-profile projects, it’s no surprise he had a concept for the interiors. “Jeffrey wanted to reflect progressiveness and innovation while still conveying the company’s reputation as a trustworthy institution with the longtime business commitment his clients have known for years,” says Cantoni design consultant Nicole George, who oversaw the design. “He envisioned a modern space that was simultaneously professional and comfortable.”

To bring this vision to fruition, Nicole worked with Jarrod and Jeff to meld neutral classic modern furnishings with vibrant abstract art and lighting. She interwove Natuzzi Etoile sofas in white leather, black-leather Lazzo chairs, BDI Sequel office furnishings and creamy textural rugs with beautiful sculpture and art. “Nicole was exceptionally helpful in assisting with the layout, design and follow-through, and with her timeliness of the delivery of furniture,” Jeffrey says. “She is a true professional.”

The end result is an unexpectedly dynamic, inviting environment with numerous serene seating areas for clients. “It is museum-quality design — timeless and simplistically detailed,” Nicole says.  “It was a true gift to not only have such a respected client with a proclivity for design, but to have the opportunity to affect people’s lives on a larger scale with a welcoming atmosphere.”
