8 Ways to Cozy Up Your Home for Winter

Many things come to mind when we hear the word, “winter.” Holidays, snow days, hot chocolate, crackling fireplace, just to name a few. For many of us, the snow has already begun to fall and with Christmas only three weeks away, the time to bring some warmth back into your home is now. After all, there’s nothing like coming home to a warm and cozy space after plodding through icy winds and snow.

Below are 8 tips and tricks to help you create a cozy winter home along with the must-have pieces you need to get the look!

1. Add Rugs

Nobody likes having cold feet, especially during the cold months of winter. Having something super soft underfoot is a wonderful way to add warmth and cozy elements to any room. And your feet will certainly appreciate it too!

Make sure to have throws easily accessible and draped throughout your living space. We also love the look of a cozy faux fur blanket draped across dining room chairs, and you’ll love being able to wrap yourself up in them during those extra chilly moments.

Sometimes all you need to update your space is a fresh coat of paint. Our latest paint color obsessions? Anything dark and moody from bold black to midnight blue to olive green and stormy grays. You’d be surprised at how versatile dark colors can be–plus they can bring a seriously cozy and “I’m never leaving” vibe to your space during the winter months.

With every season comes the opportunity to give your space a mini makeover. And one of the easiest ways to do just that is by switching out your pillows. Decorative pillows have the ability to instantly and effortlessly transform your space. A good strategy for selecting pillows is to start with a solid, a pattern, and a textured fabric and connect them through color. And since we’re trying to warm up over here, the softer, the better.
